ResLock for YouTube ("ResLock", "we", "our") is a browser extension that helps users automatically apply preferred YouTube playback quality settings.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension handles, how it is used, and what choices users have.

1) Information We Handle

ResLock handles the following categories of information:

A) Local extension settings (stored in Chrome extension storage)

  • Preferred quality selection
  • Quality behavior toggles (for example, always-best mode, badge visibility, extension on/off)
  • UI state values (for example, account panel state, CTA state)

B) Subscription/account status data via ExtPay

If you use paid features, ResLock uses ExtPay (https://extensionpay.com) to check account and subscription status. This may include:

  • Account email (when provided by ExtPay)
  • Paid/subscription status metadata
  • Timestamps related to account status checks

2) How We Use Information

We use the above information only to:

  • Provide extension functionality
  • Persist your settings across sessions
  • Determine whether paid-only features should be enabled
  • Show account/subscription state in the popup UI

3) Data Sharing and Third Parties

ResLock communicates with:

  • https://m.youtube.com/*

ResLock does not sell personal data.

ResLock does not use a custom ResLock-owned backend for user tracking in this project.

4) Data Retention

  • Settings and local cached status remain in extension storage until changed, cleared, or the extension is removed.
  • Subscription/account status is obtained from ExtPay as needed for feature gating.

5) Security

  • Extension communication with ExtPay uses HTTPS.
  • Data stored by the extension is limited to what is required for functionality.

6) User Choices

You can:

  • Change settings at any time in the extension popup
  • Remove extension data by uninstalling the extension
  • Manage subscription/account actions through ExtPay

7) Children

ResLock is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for general audiences.

8) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the Effective date above.
